A new company will be locating in Columbus, bringing around 240 jobs.
Columbus-Lowndes Development Link CEO Joe Higgins on Wednesday confirmed Janesville Acoustics will locate in the building formerly occupied by American Nonwovens, off Highway 69 on Fabritek Drive, though he noted a formal announcement has yet to be made.
"They are an automotive supplier and have plans to be a fairly substantial presence here," he said.
According to the company website, Janesville Acoustics is one of the world's largest producers of acoustical and thermal fiber insulation and a leading producer of automotive decorative trim and molded fiber products.
They operate as a Tier I and Tier II supplier for acoustical and decorative trim products in the automotive and transportation industry worldwide.
