I truly care about the people.
I want the best office equipment (computers, software, etc.) for our staff; even if it meant me using my own salary to achieve it. I believe that more training and schooling would be excellent. I would build a strong relationship with our staff: it?s an outstanding staff. When I go into the Chancery Clerk office, they are courteous and very professional. I believe that time together outside the office would make our staff more effective for our citizens. I would implement monthly dinners, cookouts, incentives, etc. This would be done out of my own salary. I believe in taking care of those who take care of you.
Job creation and crime! I would work directly with our citizens, city officials, congressmen and federal government to improve it.

I am not part of the corrupt courthouse crowd presently in place. I believe our Chancery Clerk should represent the people of Lowndes County and not be the rubber stamp of certain supervisors.
As secretary for the Board of Supervisors, I would speak up for the rights of all citizens not a select few who have money or power.
Lack of leadership is a pressing problem. Our Chancery Clerk needs to be a leader not a follower. I would take an active and independent position.

To servce the citizens of Justice Court District 1, I will be a full-time constable performing all the duties as specified by state law.
The most pressing challenge facing Lowndes County is dealing with the growth we are experiencing. We are proud of this growth; however, we must be prepared to meet the challenges that come with growth. As your constable, I will be visible and available full-time to meet the needs of our citizens. I will work closely with other law enforcement agencies, the school systems, recreation events and Columbus Air Force Base officials.

My training and experience along with my age makes me the better candidate for the Constable position. I have over 15 years in law enforcement. I have worked my entire life. I am a common sense man with a college degree. I am younger and more able to do what is required of this position.
The most pressing challenge facing Lowndes County is the continual increase in crime. By being more available and actually out on patrol would be a start. Another solution would be to lobby legislatures to change the fee base to a standard salary so more emphases could be placed on prevention than only doing what you get paid to do which is to serve papers.
There are basically two changes that need to be addressed immediately. The number one change would be that I am available to residents of Lowndes County when they need me. I intend to be in my district and available. The next change is I would treat all people with dignity and respect they deserve.

My 19 years of experience as Circuit Clerk coupled with 16 years experience as a deputy clerk in the office and my record of performance.
During my tenure this office has become one of the most efficient and up to date circuit clerk's offices in the state; however, we live in an era of constant change and I will always be seeking ways to implement new technology to improve record keeping and services.
The most pressing challenge facing the circuit clerk's office next year will be the implementation of the countyside and legislative redistricting plans in the midst of a Presidential election year with a possible special election for legislative offices. I have attended specialized training on the implementation of the redistricting process. My experience and knowledge will allow the execution of these duties in an efficient and timely manner.

As a successful entrepreneur I have acquired an advanced business skill set. My conservative values coupled with progressive thinking are a perfect match for the office of Circuit Clerk.
It is imperative that the circuit clerk's office become paperless. I realize that the county needs to maintain some paper documents, but there is no reason that we can't be there (paperless) as a county. As one of the top counties in this state, we need to be the rule rather than the exception. Saying we as a county are not there yet is not acceptable.
In the circuit clerk's office, it is the ever-growing court docket. I have talked with attorneys who work in these courts and they say they face space constraints when it comes to paperwork and that their cases are often delayed. If elected, I can work with the district attorney's office and the circuit judges to fix this problem. A technologically advanced and paperless office will not only solve these problems, but lead to less taxpayer expense; our secretary of state has been able to reduce his budget by a million per year by making his office more streamlined. These advances will make this office and our courts run more efficiently, and justice will be handed down sooner rather than later. As William Gladstone said, "Justice delayed is justice denied."
Justice court judges have civil and criminal jurisdiction of all actions of $3,500 or less. They conduct preliminary hearings in felony cses and have concurrent jurisdiction with circuit courts over criminal matters where punishment cannot exceed a fine and sentence of one year in county jail. Justice courts also handle preliminary matters committed inside the county, but outside of city limits.

Experience! I actually served as Justice Court Judge in District 2 from 1994-2003. I also served over two years as Caledonia Municipal Court Judge. With the knowledge I received from this prior service, I can resume the judicial duties of this office without any preliminary training.
When the sheriff's department arrests someone for a felony, they must bring that person before a judge for an initial appearance. To keep the sheriff's department from having to transport prisoners to the court, I would like to see the initial appearance handled via closed-circuit TV. For security reasons, the prisoner never leaves the jail.
Unemployment! As a citizen of Lowndes County, I believe it is my responsibility to support the many businesses in our area and, also, the efforts of our community leaders as they recruit new industry to our county.

I have dealt with the public all my life. Spent 23 years in the Army dealing with people. I see a lot of the problems in Lowndes County the last year and a half being in the circuit court.
Try to settle a lot of the problems without going to justice court. Try to help with their problems before things get out of hand. Be more accessible to people everyday.
I think drugs would be number one. Being able to resolve problems without showing partiality to certain people would be a help in all aspects of Lowndes County government, especially in the court systems.

I am the best candidate for this position due to my 14 years of legal experience practicing law throughout the Golden Triangle area and teaching criminal and civil law at Mississippi University for Women as an adjunct professor. I have a paralegal studies degree with a minor in speech communications. I served as a public defender in Clay County and now serve as City Prosecutor for Brooksville.
Drug court is necessary. I would implement this type of court to assist first time offenders in our county. We also need to enhance the computer technology of Justice Court. And lastly, we need to establish a prevention network with the school systems to deter our youth and to help recidivism.
The criminal system has far too many repeat offenders. The county should pursue a more active role to decrease those numbers. We should educate our youth and the community; implement drug court and partner with the schools to prevent and deter individuals from violating the law. There are several federal and state grants that I would pursue to fund these programs and I would seek out other resources to help implement these programs to help make our community a better place.

35.5 years as incumbent judge for Lowndes Justice Court. The courtroom experience presiding over civil and criminal cases. I consider this position as a full time position as I have no other job. Available to citizens and law enforcement on a daily basis. A dependable judge.
1. Changes have been made, as we will have a new justice court building by the end of the year. 2. More and modern technical equipment to connect justice court with circuit, chancery and county courts.
Illegal drug possession and sale of drugs. Domestic violence offenses. Upon conviction for these, if misdemeanor offenses, then court ordered probation, counseling and accountability to the court on all court orders.
The county prosecuting attorney represents the state in all felony matters before the county's justice courts and county courts. Additionally, the county attorney represents the state in criminal cases appealed from county court to circuit court, can present any matter to the grand jury and has full responsibility for all misdemeanor youth court proceedings and all other cases not specified to the district attorney.

I offer my education, training and experience as a former assistant District Attorney (3.5 years), former commitment attorney (14 years), Mississippi Supreme Court Justice (8 years) and all together, over 30 years as a lawyer. I have been a prosecutor, specially appointed public defender (state and federal courts). I have tried hundreds of jury trials, both criminal and civil. I am a graduate of the National District Attorneys College, Career Prosecutor Course. I have taught ethics courses to judges and lawyers.
I would speed up the criminal procedures for hearings and trials. Criminals need to be held accountable for their crimes committed. I would call for more enforcement of the law for juveniles. More than 50% of all crime in Lowndes County is done by juveniles.
A lack of positive leadership by elected and appointed leaders for Lowndes County. We need to enforce the law equally and fairly. No special cases for the rich or powerful. Our families deserve better.

In the past seven years as Lowndes County's Guardian Ad Litem, I have participated in 1,359 court proceedings representing children that have been abused or neglected. There is no tougher job in our legal system than representing those victims. Prosecuting cases involving the abuse and neglect of children is a critical part of the County Attorney's job. I will always be mindful of the victims of crimes. I have the experience and training necessary to be your next County Attorney. I am the best candidate because of my extensive work over the past 15 years with the current County Attorney, Tim Hudson, first as an interim and later as Acting County Attorney in his absence or if there was a conflict, and because of my extensive experience in Youth Court representing abused and neglected children.
I plan to implement special weekly office hours reserved to interact with victims and/or other attorneys to speed up the resolution of their cases. I also plan to make sure as County Attorney that all the technological advances available will be used to run the office as efficiently as possible.
Drugs and the economy. The most pressing challenge is for Columbus to be a safe place to work and raise your family so that it will continue to be attractive to new businesses and our military. As County Attorney I would be responsible for enforcing our laws in the Justice Court system and prosecuting cases involving juvenile delinquents and child victims of abuse and neglect. I believe making Lowndes County the kind of place we all want to live will also make it the kind of place in which businesses will want to invest.

The combination of on-the-job experience I have gained in the courtroom and the working relationship I have established with local law enforcement and judges.
I would work with the current Justice Court Judges to establish preliminary hearings so that the court docket could be minimized and more efficient.
In regards to the position of court attorney, the most pressing issue will always be the potential growth of criminal activity. As prosecutor, the county attorney must establish a strong presence in the county concerning prosecuting DUI and drug charges to help decrease this activity.
The 16th district attorney is a prosecutor who represents the people of Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Noxubee and Clay counties in all criminal matters originating in a trial court except in those counties with county prosecuting attorneys.

I have done this job functionally for 33 years. I know the issues and problems inside out. I have more trial experience than anyone in the district. What we are doing is working. The number of cases going to the grand jury is shrinking. In the mid-90s, a grand jury in Lowndes County was getting 600 cases four times a year. We now get about 300, sometimes less, four times a year. That means fewer people are being arrested for felony offenses. It's happening district wide.
My office is effective right now, but we're understaffed. The National Prosecution Standards say there should be at least two prosecutors per judge. The legislature has given me four assistants. That gives us five lawyers counting myself. We have three judges. Consequently, we frequently get stretched too thin.
In my world, violent crime. While our numbers overall have dropped significantly, violent crime appears to be on the rise. I can't '€œfix' the causes of violent crime. I can only address it in the courtroom.

I have over 17 years experience in public education. During that time I have served as a
teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal. The leadership skills I have developed working in each role has prepared me for the role of superintendent. I feel I am the best candidate for the position because I am an effective leader in the following areas.
1. Vision. To be an effective leader you have to be a visionary. The Bible puts it best in Proverbs 29:18 "Where there is no vision, the people perish. .." As a superintendent you must have a plan for academic achievement and facilities.
2. Communication. Success in education depends on all the stakeholders - employees, students, parents and all community members. In order for us all to work together there must be communication. I plan to hold meetings in each community to share my vision and also hear the concerns of the people. I also plan to be very visible in the schools to ensure an open line of communication with all faculty and staff.
3. Personnel. Managing personnel is a very important job of any school leader. It starts with the people you hire and then continues as you manage people. There must be a system of accountability in place for all employees. As a superintendent you will only be successful with great administrators, teachers and staff members who know they are supported and appreciated.
I have often heard insanity defined as doing things the same way and expecting different results. With that being said change is always essential in order to be successful. To list exact changes I would make is difficult because other key leaders within the school district will also be involved. I will say as the superintendent I will be a change agent and here are a few ways I would institute change. The new superintendent will take office in January 2012, the middle of the school year. I will make it a priority to spend time in the schools and communities to build a line of communication with all stakeholders. I will work to build better communication and unity among all district administrators and principals. I will study the current programs and consultant agreements the district is currently purchasing and eliminate the ones that are duplicated and/or not effective. I will work with the district administrators and principals to make changes to our student handbook to help improve attendance which will improve achievement. I will work with the district administrators and principals to make sure our teacher evaluation instrument dearly communicates expectations and accountability. I will study other similar districts that are having success for ideas for improvement in our district especially in the areas of pre-kindergarten education, school interventionists, vocational education and overall facility improvement.
The most pressing challenge facing Lowndes County is the same challenge facing our country '€” the economy. I feel our city and county leaders are doing a great job bringing industry and jobs to Columbus and Lowndes County. As Superintendent of Education of Lowndes County Schools it will be my responsibility to make sure our schools help this process. One of the first things industry look at when they visit an area are the schools. There two areas that are very important that I will work to improve:
1. Academic achievement. Mississippi along with 42 other states and Washington D.C. has recently adopted the Common Core Standards. These standards will eventually replace the curriculum frameworks currently used in Mississippi. The implementation will begin this year with kindergarten - 2nd grade. When the Common Core assessment begin in 2014-2015 it will be vital to our community that our students are prepared and successful.
2. Facilities. First impressions are very important. This is true when discussing schools. I will work with the people of Lowndes County to develop a plan to continue to improve all of our facilities.

I have 17 years of experience within the Lowndes County School District in many capacities. I have been an administrator, a classroom teacher, a coach and I am a parent of two children who attend school in the district. I have vast experience and connections with all schools in the district. I taught and coached at West Lowndes for five years and I was an administrator, teacher and coach at Caledonia for twelve years. My wife, a graduate of New Hope High School, also teaches within the district. Through my personal background and that of my family, I have gained an appreciation and understanding of Lowndes County Schools. The career opportunities I have had from many different aspects have enabled me to assess where we are now and determine the positive direction we need to go.
Effective and open communication between the central office and school principals, teachers, parents and members of the community is absolutely essential to move the district forward. I would also strive to streamline our educational programs to allow teachers more time to teach. Supplementary programs can be a great asset, but I feel we have too many. We should decide which programs work best, adequately fund those, and eliminate the rest.
The most pressing challenge I feel we face is the lack of a long-range plan. Currently, our facilities are overcrowded, in need of repair and are in some cases completely inadequate. We need to plan for the next 20 years, not just for the next two years. I believe very strongly that a viable alternative/vocational facility is needed to reach those students who have difficulties thriving in the traditional classroom setting.

I believe the superintendent of a school district is responsible for the academic growth of all the students in the school district. The superintendent must be the instructional leader of the district with a vision and determination to provide a quality education to all students. The superintendent must be a proven instructional leader. I have 38 years educational experience and 34 years experience as a principal. I work closely with teachers, staff, parents, and students to provide the best education for all the students.
I have proven that I provide the instructional leadership to improve instruction by evidence that I am the principal of a Star School as accredited by Mississippi Department of Education. I am the only candidate in this race for Superintendent of Lowndes County Schools that has proven his or her leadership by achieving Star School status. I want to incorporate that leadership to the position of superintendent and provide the leadership to guide all schools in Lowndes County to becoming High Performing or Star Schools. This can be done. All children can learn and achieve at a high level.
I will with my vision, experience, and work ethic make Lowndes County Schools a higher achieving school district. This district has the resources and personnel to accomplish this goal. At the end of four years, all schools in Lowndes County will be accredited High Performing or Star School.
The superintendent and central office staff are the support personnel for the schools in the district. There needs to be better communication and collaboration with the department heads of Lowndes County School District. The lack of communication and collaboration with the department heads trickles down and affects every school in the district.
As superintendent I will be the CEO of the district and I will be involved in all areas of planning, organizing, budgeting and managing the district. All major decisions will be approved by me. All department heads will answer to me. I will be a strong manger. I will be the leader.
Lowndes County School District is composed of 9 schools. Some of the schools are performing far below the level of excellence. All the schools in the district can achieve at a higher level of academic achievement.
My goal as superintendent would be to work with each principal and staff in the district to increase the academic level of each school to High Performing or Star School. Parents want to live and work where schools are achieving. Industry wants to relocate to areas where schools are successful. Lowndes County School District can become a Star School District with my leadership. The residents of Lowndes County would have a strong school district. Strong schools help the community and economy flourish.

Experience, knowledge of the curriculum, proven leadership ability, commitment to this district, and innovative, visionary goal-setting make me the very best choice for Superintendent.
I have 32 years of experience in Mississippi public schools. Fourteen of those 32 years have been as an administrator. I was a principal for seven years in a school with 85% poverty and maintained a State Accountability Rating of Level 4 for four consecutive years. I was an assistant principal for two years in a school of almost 1200 students. I am completing my fifth year as Assistant Superintendent of the Lowndes County School District, and am the only candidate with Central Office experience.
With the support of an outstanding team of Central Office administrators, very supportive principals, and awesome teachers, I have facilitated changes that have resulted in student achievement that is the third highest in Lowndes and five surrounding counties, based on the results of state tests. A superior school system benefits our students with an excellent education, our employees with an excellent place to work, and serves as a tool to help recruit industries to our county which gives our families and
graduates good jobs.
As assistant superintendent, I have facilitated changes that have led to increases in student achievement for four consecutive years, increases in student attendance, and decreases in discipline referrals. I led the implementation of Positive Behavior and Intervention Support that has resulted in increased student engagement and in decreased discipline referrals. I partnered with Columbus Municipal School District to obtain a grant for $1.4 million that allowed the implementation of Advanced Placement classes at all high schools and Pre-Advanced Placement classes at the middle schools, taught by College Board trained teachers. I successfully managed the $1.4 million dollar grant budget plus a $500,000 local budget, plus many smaller grants over the last five years. I understand the relationship between effective discipline, student engagement in learning, and attendance. Increased attendance brings in
more funding and adds to increased achievement.
I led the year-long, district-wide accreditation process that resulted in all nine schools in Lowndes County being accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools for the first time. I have led the implementation of many other district-wide initiatives to improve student learning, such as
o Professional Learning Communities '€“ the first district'€“wide professional learning community
model in Mississippi
o SpringBoard College Prep Middle School Curriculum
o Pre-Advanced Placement classes in middle school
o AVID-Advancement Via Individual Determination
o Pacing guides
o Universal screening for reading, math and behavior
o Positive behavior intervention support
o Response to intervention
o Common core state standards transition plan and training
o AP summer camps
o Mississippi Scholars student achievement recognition
o Extensive district-wide data analysis to improve instruction
I am committed to continuing to improve this district. My commitment to this district, its students and families is the driving force that motivates me to run for this office. My belief that the LCSD can attain the highest level of performance set by the state encourages me to continue to find ways to make improvements.
The office of Superintendent of Education of the LCSD is currently extremely effective. Increasing two-way communication would lead to a better understanding, within the organization and the community, of the processes, initiatives and successes of the district.
In the area of education, the most pressing challenge is remaining a fiscally sound organization while supporting the needs of students, teachers, administrators and programs and meeting the state and federal educational mandates, all during tight budget times. As Superintendent, I would address that challenge by planning conservatively around a district goal, protecting the classroom, monitoring the effectiveness of all programs and by involving all administrators in the budget process.

My genuine concern for all of the children of Lowndes County makes me the best candidate for Superintendent of Education.
As Superintendent I will give teachers and other stake holders a greater voice in how the district is being run. Change will be part of a collective dialogue.
The prospect of gaining unitary status is our most pressing challenge. My leadership will ensure that fairness toward everyone takes place throughout the district.

I will work tirelessly, I will use common sense, and I have no problem taking a stand for what is right regardless of popular opinion or political pressure.
I have been blessed with 35 years' experience in education; 28 years as an administrator (Principal or Headmaster). I have been a head coach and athletic director for 25 years (9 state football championships, 1NACA Division II National Title, 3 State Baseball Championships), This includes 47 and 32 game winning streaks in football and a 32 game winning streak in baseball. I served 3 years as Principal of New Hope High School, the largest high school in the Lowndes County School District.
The Lowndes County School District is now SACS accredited. I have over 20 years' experience as an administrator in SACS accredited schools and have served on and chaired visiting committees.
I have a BS degree in Business Administration with double minors (Economics and P.E.).
I have a Masters' Degree in Education Administration (k-12).
I have served on the AISA: State Board of Directors, State Council, State Accreditation Committee, State Headmasters' Association (former President), and the Pickens County: Industrial Development Board, Medical Center Board of Directors and Cattlemen's' Association Board of Directors
I was honored to have been inducted into the AISA Hall of Fame in 2003 as an administrator and a coach and to be inducted into the UWA (University of West Alabama) Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004 where I was a linebacker on the Tiger football team.
I have been married for 36 years to a wonderful elementary teacher, Ginger. We have three sons, Josh, Jody, and Jonathan; all educators and coaches.
We would put more emphasis on quality of programs than on quantity. We would make every effort to evaluate the programs, continuing the most effective while removing or refusing to adopt those that are similar or duplicate existing programs. We will affect scheduling of meetings and workshops to minimize classroom interruptions, keeping the teachers in the classroom and administrators in their buildings. We want everyone from the central office down to be on the same page on policies, scheduled events, and commitment to the education of our students. We will visit our school campuses regularly, listening to concerns, addressing problems, and recognizing accomplishments. We will treat all employees with respect and support and provide them with encouragement and the resources they need to do their jobs. We will have regular central office staff meetings to address concerns, inform employees, and make sure we are on the same page. We will strive to recruit highly qualified administrators, teachers and coaches of high moral character that will not only inspire learning but can lead by example. We will support our administrators and teachers who enforce LCSD discipline policies. We want an enforceable attendance policy. We will expect our students to learn, our teachers to teach, and our administrators to provide supervision and support. We want our students to be prepared with a quality education; whether pursuing a college education or entering the work force. We want more opportunities through a centralized Vocational school providing skill specific courses to prepare our students for further Vocational/Technical school training or to enter the work force. This is essential to meet the needs of the industry in Lowndes County. We want a Drug Testing Program for students, employees, and board members. We want a Pre-K program and an emphasis on reading on grade level in our elementary schools. We want to work with county officials, stake holders, parents, colleges, and industry to determine the educational needs and employment opportunities in Lowndes County.
The most pressing challenge is to provide a quality education that enables our students to reach their fullest potential. We need to continue to prepare students for college by raising the bar with more rigor in pre-AP and AP classes and more opportunities with Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit courses. We need a centralized Vocational School where Industry identified skill specific courses can be taught that will prepare students for more intense training at the next level or to enter the work force. This facility could also house an alternative school, the central office, and provide a means where ROTC might be available for all LCSD students and where Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit courses could possibility be taught.
The sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer of the county and the chief officer of the chancery and circuit courts; he or she is in charge of the county courthouse, jail and protection of prisoners.

I believe that having over 31 years of law enforcement-related experience and working in every major division in law enforcement makes me the most qualified candidate for sheriff. I also have served over seven years as a Justice Court Judge and tried civil and criminal cases that originated from the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department including working with the jail division on a regular basis regarding prisoner-related issues.
As Sheriff, I would meet with employees as a group and meet with each individual employee to make an assessment. I have worked with a majority of the sworn officers at the department so I am already familiar with most deputies. I would place the best officers in key positions and hold them accountable for their subordinates. I am sure I would make some changes in personnel but would do so only if needed to improve the department and better serve the public.
a. I believe the most pressing challenge facing Lowndes County is the growing presence of drugs and gang activity. This type of activity is causing a rise in burglaries, assaults and drive-by shootings. You must first identify the high crime areas, the different types of crime to a specific area and identify the "home turf" of the different gangs. All divisions of law enforcement must work together employing aggressive investigative techniques.
b. Intelligence gathering, saturation details, interdiction and undercover operations just to name a few.

While all of the candidates would bring unique qualities to the position, I feel I will bring commitment, experience, cooperativeness, dedication and professionalism to the position. I am committed to maintaining and strengthening the safety and security of our citizens, businesses and visitors. I bring over 30 years of law enforcement experience to this position ranging from patrol to department management. I will continue to work with other local, state and federal agencies to bring needed resources to the county to help keep our county safe. I am dedicated to seeing a job/project completed and will devote the hours and resources to seeing it completed. I believe in a professional work environment and work ethic and will accept no less from those who work with me to serve the public. I want to make sure the employees of the Sheriff's department are provided with the proper training, tools and resources to provide the type of services the citizens of Lowndes County deserves.
The core of the Lowndes County Sheriff's department is strong and I want to use that strength to increase our ties and working relationships within our neighborhoods, churches and community groups. The more we work together to promote a positive image for the community the more our ties will strengthen to allow us to work together to provide for a safer community. Such ties will allow us to promote the type of community that attracts families and business to the community rather than those who would choose to circumvent the laws of the society. Drugs, domestic disputes and other types of problems can be minimized when people work together. By working together we build a network of support. Problems and issues can be addressed before they escalate to the point where more critical action is required.
During an economic decline, people may be tempted more to do things that help them get out of whatever hardship has been bestowed upon them. Drug trafficking, robberies, burglaries and other types of infractions of the law tend to rise during hard times, especially when they are as drawn out as they have been these last few years. If allowed, little things become big things. Lowndes County has grown over the years and the Sheriff's Department has to keep pace with the growth and the issues that come with it. We need to be able to address these issues in a smart, effective and efficient manner. As I mentioned in the second question, strengthening community ties with the Sheriff's department is crucial. We must work together to provide the resources to help those in need so they do not turn to alternative means to get through rough times. The Sheriff's department must be prepared at all times by constantly assessing the needs and issues of the community and planning appropriately to address the issues. I vow to be a pro-active Sheriff and will work with external agencies to acquire resources to help keep our community safe.

I have spent 22 years as a patrolman and shift supervisor. During my 22 years, I have been in the field doing the job or directing my patrol officers at the scene. My job includes everything from chasing bats out of a house to a double homicide case. I deal with citizens on a face-to-face basis everyday and I use a common sense approach to law enforcement.
I believe interacting with the citizens and gaining their confidence and respect is extremely important. By assigning a deputy to a certain area of the county allows them to become familiar to the residents and aware of conditions that are out of place. The deputy becomes part of the community and more effective in their duties.
Without a doubt, drugs. The trend now seems to be prescription drugs. This usually requires involvement by a so-called doctor. My emphasis will be directed at the dealers of all drugs who are pocketing tons of money at the expense of our youth.

*Desire-To serve the citizens of Lowndes County, giving them the service and protection they deserve.
*Experience-My diverse array of law enforcement experience is over and beyond most other law enforcement officers along with the technical and budget skills of being a successful business owner.
*Knowledge of the County-In my career as a game warden I have literally walked over most of this county. There would not be anything that a sheriff would encounter that I haven't experienced or had training.
*People skills-Making an average of 5,000 personal contacts a year; I know how to interact with and how valuable it is to stay in touch with the public.
*Proven-In my career as a game warden I was honored to be chosen statewide Officer of the Year twice and Officer of the Year once for the northern 15 counties.
*Confidence-I know I can be the best sheriff Lowndes County has ever had. I promise to do everything in my power to bring closure to families in Lowndes County and the City of Columbus whose loved ones have been the victims of a violent crime. You deserve to know the truth. I will stand up and do the right thing every day, fighting to stop all crime never letting politics dictate how I do my job. I am the right person, at the right time, for the right reason.
*I will surround myself with the most qualified people making sure every case is handled properly from start to finish, that law enforcement officers are very well versed in the law and they conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
*I will look at every avenue to save money, but never forgetting the safety of our officers and the public, including having two officers per vehicle.
*I will expand the department's web-site which would allow the public to give input in helping to solve crime.
*I will work with other agencies, welcoming their input and providing you with the law enforcement you deserve.
*My campaign slogan says, "Your Personal Sheriff". If you can't come to me I will come to you. I will be in the community daily and will pledge to meet with every business owner in Lowndes County.
The biggest challenge is to keep the sheriff's department well staffed, well equipped, and professionally trained to give the public the level of service they deserve while staying within budget. Address the challenge: It is a proven fact that many law enforcement agencies could not operate as they do without the money and equipment seized from drug cases. Having the experience and knowledge of our highways and waterways as I do, I will work drug interdiction using the money and equipment seized to help purchase equipment, keep well staffed, properly trained personnel, to give the public the level of safety they deserve.

Since the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department should not be a place for on the job training, Selvain McQueen should be the obvious choice for sheriff. He has withstood the vigor's of civil service testing, rising from the rank of patrolman to Chief of Detectives. His multifaceted experience and knowledge comes from heading many divisions and from his instructor certifications on the federal, state, and local levels. He has a vision that will enable Lowndes County to become a safer place to visit, live, work, and play. Effectiveness is no accident; it is the result of intelligent effort matched with staff that know their craft, the people, and the community they serve. Selvain McQueen will promote a culture of leadership, accountability and innovation so that the citizens will be provided with the safety and peace of mind that is needed to be safe within our homes. And in closing, he realizes that it is time to clean this county up. With your help, we can improve quality of life issues for everyone.
Develop goals, objectives, and a mission statement for the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department. Set up Neighborhood Watch programs throughout the county. Establish special teams to deal with specific criminal activity concerns. Develop a Senior Citizens Volunteer Program. Develop a Citizens Law Enforcement Academy. Develop a Lowndes County Law Enforcement Explorer Program. Designate a Public Information Officer. Reduce response time by assigning officers to beats throughout the county. Stricken the verbiages of I can't help you, It's not my job, and I don't care from the vocabularies of Lowndes County Sheriff's Department personnel.
Crime Prevention. As your sheriff, I can tell people who are currently committing crimes in Lowndes County. STOP COMMITTING CRIMES, MOVE TO ANOTHER JURISDICTION, OR GO TO JAIL !!! There is a new sheriff in town and his name is Selvain McQueen.

I reside in Lowndes County along with my wife and four children. Throughout my 23 years of law enforcement, the majority of my time and experience was gained employed by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department. While there, I worked in the patrol division and as a detective in the investigations division. I am an experienced law enforcement manager and I have experience in operating a correctional facility which is part of the Sheriff's duties. Currently, I am the administrator of the Lowndes County Juvenile Detention Center. I've carried this title for nine years. Despite my current tasks, I still work for the Lowndes County Sheriff's office on a part time basis.
My educational and law enforcement background has prepared me for the upcoming challenges the next sheriff of Lowndes County will have to face. I am an honor graduate of St. Leo University with a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. I also earned my Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from EMCC. Over my 23 years of law enforcement, I have gained over 2000 hours of specialized law enforcement training ranging from forensic crime scene techniques to county wide terrorism response. In addition, I am a state certified law enforcement instructor. I am also a state certified corrections officer instructor.
I possess a high degree of familiarity with the daily operations and procedures of the Lowndes County sheriff's department and I am prepared to assume command. Furthermore, I am familiar with the people of Lowndes County and I have heard their needs and concerns over the years. Nevertheless, I am not a politician but rather a law enforcement officer who is seeking a higher position to better serve the people of Lowndes County.
I have law enforcement experience, corrections experience, managerial experience and the education, knowledge, ability and desire to lead our Sheriff's department. I am also prepared to make the changes necessary to improve our Sheriff's department and the level of professionalism and service to our community.
I have a strategic vision for the Lowndes County sheriff's office rather than a platform. My strategic vision involves the concept of community oriented policing; we need to become more responsive to the needs and concerns of the community we serve. The Sheriff's department needs to improve the lines of communication between the community and the Sheriff's office. The sheriff himself should improve communication with the community. One way to accomplish this would be to hold community meetings with leaders of the various communities in Lowndes County. I would also encourage the deputies on patrol to communicate with the citizens they encounter while patrolling. This would help to build a rapport between the community and the Sheriff's office. I would also stress professionalism. Professionalism is of paramount importance. It must be reflected in the appearance, attitude, knowledge and performance of the deputies' duties. This can best be achieved through the implementation of innovative training techniques that will keep the Lowndes County sheriff's office in tune with the evolving technology around us and any changes in law enforcement policies or procedures. Training must be comprehensive and ongoing and this will be a priority.
In my opinion the most pressing challenge is disaster preparedness. I would address this challenge by developing a comprehensive disaster action plan using the guidelines set forth in the National Incident Management System or NIMS as developed by the federal government. This will make us eligible for some grant funding. I would also seek to develop mutual aid agreements with surrounding law enforcement and emergency response agencies. This must be developed and implemented now before there is a need rather than after the need arises. There are many circumstances I will be tasked with if elected as your sheriff, in addition to the normal law enforcement duties. I am prepared to lead you and the people of Lowndes County through any event or crisis with a stead fast approach regardless of the situation.

I would like to let voters/residents of Lowndes County know that I have over 33 years of law enforcement experience right here in Lowndes County., working my way from patrolman, investigator, narcotics agent, commander of SWAT (Special Response Team), commander of the Columbus Police Department's Narcotics Unit, and selected to be one of the homicide detectives for the unsolved homicides in Columbus, which was a multi-jurisdictional task force, and retiring as a patrol shift commander. I have worked my way up and have experience in all the fields to be the next Sheriff of Lowndes County. I have solved crime in Lowndes County as much as the City of Columbus. I was the person to bring the City Narcotics Unit and the Lowndes County Narcotics Unit together to form one narcotics unit, The Columbus-Lowndes Metro Narcotics Unit (task force) and was the person that brought the city government and the Lowndes County Government together to purchase a large building that houses the narcotics unit along with the Lowndes County Coroner's Office, the Animal Control Unit for the city and county together and an office for the Special Response Team. There are also plans to include a training area in this building for the local agencies and the Columbus Fire and Rescue along with training for members of the Mississippi Homeland Security. I have produced to solve crime and reduce crime in Columbus and Lowndes County.
First and foremost, there needs to be more deputies on the road in order to reduce crime. If I could not get the Board of Supervisors to give more money to hire the needed deputies, then I would rearrange some of the way the shifts are run. The reserve force would be used in order to cover areas that normally are not covered, or the reserves would be used to back the other deputies up in the '€œhot spots' to reduce crime. We have to reduce crime in order to invite other families to Lowndes County to become residences of Lowndes County. We have the industry here but not all employees are living in Lowndes County. We have to grow! The next area to change would be to give the Sheriff's Department back to the people of Lowndes County. To have an open door policy to inform the people what is going on in their Sheriff's Department. To hold open meetings in all areas of the county, to find out the needs of the people, to inform the people of what crimes are taking place and what their sheriff's department is doing to make the quality of life a better place to live. The people have to be kept informed. I would like to see some type of Citizens Police Academy established or join in with the Citizens Police Academy from the city's police department but to include county citizens, business owners, pastors and so forth to give the citizens an understanding of what the deputies do for their sheriff's department.
Reducing crime while improving the quality of life and keeping the community informed. The next sheriff of Lowndes County will need to be a strong, ,well experienced, professional law enforcement officer, in order to be able to move the sheriff's department forward into the future. The next sheriff will need to reduce crime, improve the quality of life for the citizens and have a zero tolerance to gangs, drugs dealers and other serious crime violators operating in Lowndes County. If the crime cannot be reduced, we will lost residents of Lowndes County to other areas around Lowndes County!

Due to my experience in the construction business for 35 years, a state licensed contractor and also a federal government selective service board memeber, if elected to this office, I could immediately take the reins of a county board seat and lead Lowndes County in the right direction.
I would implement changes leading to more proper discussions to solutions for problems that arise in county business and treat other boad members with the proper respect, the same way I would expect to be treated.
The most pressing challenge facing Lowndes County is trying to keep the tax millage as low as possible and to improve the quality of life for all Lowndes County residents.

Marital status: single Residence: 52 North Church St., Caledonia Occupation: Lowndes County Road Dept. Email: poundersjoey@yahoo.com Phone: 662-251-5088
I currently work for the Road Department. I was raised in Caledonia and know most of the people here. I see several things throughout the day I would do different which could save a lot of money by making simple adjustments without the sacrifice of jobs. This saved money could be distributed to important things such as education to decrease teacher layoffs. I enjoy working with people to solve problems and believe that is one of the most important credentials needed for this job.
I have studied many fields in college and have acquired a vast amount of general knowledge through work related tasks. My college experience and education in a variety of classes include but not limited to business, psychology, criminal justice, and sociology which have aided in my ability to understand budgets as well as socialization skills with a range of different human behaviors. That is always a good credential to have but I feel my greatest ability is problem solving. I'm always easy to talk to and help anyone I can when they need help. I understand that this job requires making the citizens of District 1 happy while maintaining a budget in which I am confident I will be able to do.
My change would be to make this a county that doesn't just help the important people with pull or money, but a county that helps any and all tax payers to become a strong economic community throughout. If this means cutting or caping pay to our top office holders then so be it.
Spending Money.. In order for our county to grow and prosper its realized we have to spend money. With that being said it's important that we spend money wisely and not splurge in areas that's not needed.

Experience and education make me the most qualified candidate as district one supervisor. I have been the district one supervisor for almost 12 years (serving as board president eight of these years). I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University with a major in management and minor in transportation. I worked in the private sector running a business for 30 years, retiring as president and chairman of the board. Therefore, I understand the issues that come up in business and know how to work through these issues. One of the most important things about being a supervisor is controlling county expenditures through an annual budget and raising revenues through taxation which we have been able to do without raising millage. Working with numbers is no obstacle for me as I have been dealing with county figures for three terms of office.
I would continue to eliminate as much bureaucracy and red tape as possible. Consolidatin gdepartments and other duplicated functions with the city would result in efficiency and savings that could result in no tax increase.
Jobs, jobs, jobs. Under my leadership, the county has been able to furnish the LINK much of the resources and tooks needed to create the industrial growth and job creation that has taken place in Lowndes County. My relationship with Joe Higgins and his team has been good and successful. I pledge to continue the course of job creation that Lowndes county has been on during my terms in office.

Education, financial and budgetary skills and experience, 40 years of leadership and management experience in a business setting focused on customer service, vast experience working on boards (business, civic and charitable boards), critical thinking and decision making skills, and effective interpersonal skills are among the key qualities making me the best candidate for the position of Supervisor, District 2.
Education: I am a graduate of MSU with a degree in banking and finance, the Mississippi School of Banking at the University of Mississippi and the Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University. I am a graduate of S.D. Lee High School and a lifelong citizen of Lowndes County.
Work experience: There are many similarities between my 40-year career in banking and the role of Lowndes County Supervisor. A supervisor must strive to meet the needs of Lowndes County citizens within the framework of the county's budget, policies, legal requirements, good judgement and common sense, and within the long-term and short-term overall strategic goals of the county. As a banker, I functioned as an officer of the bank to meet the needs of customers within the framework of the banking organization.
Board experience: I served on the Board of Directors for First Federal Bank for Savings and on the boards of the Columbus-Lowndes United Way nad Chamber of Commerce and as Chairman of the Deacons at First Baptist Church, to mention just the major ones. I currently serve on the boards of directors for the Frank P. Phillips YMCA, the Columbus Foundation and the state board Keep Mississippi Beautiful.
Leadership qualities:My leadership skills and financila knowledge have been developed through a lifetime of committed service to others in my career, civic and charitable work, family and church.
Key changes I would make would be to improve ongoing communications and to encourage community involvement. I plan to hold quarterly "town hall" type meetings with the citizens in District 2 to help keep them informed and engaged. These meetings would provide an opportunity for citizens to express their concerns and needs.
We must work to bring more jobs and growth opportunities to Lowndes County. It is important that the Supervisors work in a spirit of cooperation with economic development leaders to ensure Lowndes County has a progressive image that will attract new industry. We must also strive to improve the quality of life in Lowndes County.

I am the experienced candidate. My experience includes living and working in Lowndes County all of my life. My work in business and in county government has involved travelling all of Lowndes County. In my business career, I spent days calling on businesses and employees with ideas about how to make their work life and businesses in Lowndes County better. As your experienced Supervisor, I have been in my truck all over the county doing everything I can to make businesses, employees and families lives better in District 2. The work of the county can't be done behind a desk and only in meetings. The work has to be done out in our beautiful country.
Over the past four years. your board has been one of the most productive in many, many years, but there is still work to be done. We need to continue to make strides in infrastructure improvements for all of Lowndes County. If we do that along with quality of life improvements such as the downtown park or community centers throughout the county we will continue to attract new people and business to Lowndes County which will be a benefit to all. For this office to continue to be effective, we need to make sure that we are improving the lives of our county residents.
Economic development. I will constinue to focus on this by continuing to make strides in transportation, recreation, health and infrastructure. With a continued increase in quality of life, Lowndes County will continue to grow by attracting new jobs and new businesses. I have the experience to continue to lead District 2 and Lowndes County into the future.

I have four years previous experience of serving on the Lowndes County Board of Supervisors as vice president of the board. Served on the executive committee for the Mississippi Supervisor's Association. Owner of Mike Smith's Services for the past 16 years. I have 35 years of manufacturing experience in production, budgeting and management. A strong voice and the vision to serve the citizens of District 3 and Lowndes County.
I am in favor of moving the board meeting time to another time so that more people could attend the meetings if they desire. I would like to have meetings with our local officials, education leaders, industry leaders and our citizens to hear how we can improve the things that we are doing in Lowndes County.
I think the challenge that we will be facing is annexation and zoning. I would address it very carefully through a comprehensive plan. I believe any decisions that pertain to annexation and zoning of Lowndes County should be voted on by the residents of this county.

I have successfully owned and operated my own business since 1972. By owning my own business I have had to meet payroll, supervise, manage and make wise business decisions. I also know how to work within a budget. I have served for four years as Supervisor of Dist. 3 and have made great strides in bringing in new industry, instrumental in construction of the new health department.
Continue to make sure we have the most qualified people in the right positions and insist that they have the proper training and latest technology available to do their jobs.
Being able to secure more jobs and keeping infrastructure in place to attract more industry. Purchasing and developing land to have available and ready to build on for prospective industry. The more industry and jobs make it possible to hold our taxes down and maintain a better quality of life for the citizens of Lowndes County.

Age: 52 Political experience: This is my first foray into public office but I've worked very closely and extensively with elected officials over the past 15 years. Education: Attended high school in Lowndes Public Schools; completed Basic Supervisory Training Course; and nemerous other supervisory/management training courses. Marital status: married Residence: 867 John Smart Road, Columbus Occupation: farmer Email: howardsmart68@gmail.com Phone: 662-251-3018
I think that I am most prepared to offer a vision for the future of our county. I have over 15 years of actual hands-on experience starting as a county road crewman, and moving up to superintendent for the county roads. Additionally, as a lifelong independent farmer, I understand making tough decision and trying to maximize on investments. To this position, I will bring passion for the job and less politics in my decision making.
The Lowndes County Board of Supervisor's meetings are often very contentious. I would strive to maintain a working relationship that promotes harmony with the members of the board; I would encourage having a meeting place and time that would be more accommodating to the citizens of Lowndes County who are interested in attending these meetings; I would travel the county and have community meetings on a regular basis to identify problems and to hear what the concerns of my constituents are; in addition to working with the Lowndes County Economic Development Link, I would seek out other agents of influence to promote economic growth and development in Lowndes County. I would address road and drainage problems based on need rather than the politics of favoritism that allows some roads to be paved while others are continuously patched up.
I believe the most pressing challenge facing Lowndes County is it's unemployment. To address this issue I would promote the kind of policies that would encourage industry/businesses to locate here such as keeping taxes low, working with the schools and community colleges to create and maintain an educated workforce that is trained and ready to go to work and addressing infrastructure needs that meet the demands of potential industry/business considering locating in Lowndes County.

I have 20 plus years of experience in Lowndes County and 16 years working Parks and Recreation. I asm serving as District 4 Supervisor. I want to continue to provide positive change for this community.
The changes were made for years ago. Working together and providing positive leadership for all of Lowndes County. If it's not broke, don't try to fix it.
We have the best roads in north Mississippi but in the areas that have gravel roads more money needs to be invested for pavement. Drainage in some places needs to be improved.

I am the best candidate for the job because of my experience, knowledge and training. Having served on the board for 28 years, I understand the dynamics of county government and the political process. I have played major a role in the economic and community development of Lowndes County. My expertise has resulted in me working with other communities in the state and outside of Mississippi on community development projects. I am an important resource person because of the relationships I have developed with officials at every level of government to seek out resources needed for our community.
I think in order for supervisors to be more effective they must enhance their knowledge and leadership skills. The position of Board President should be rotated annually to provide members the opportunity to serve in that capacity, in order to strengthen the skills in procedural matters. Each member should attend a variety of professional and training workshop to keep them aware of issues impacting county government. It will also provide insight into successful programs that have already been implemented.
The most pressing challenge facing Lowndes County is leadership. Elected officials should be open minded and willing to engage in an ongoing dialog with different groups in he community, to find meaningful solutions to community problems; education, health, community and economic development.

I have vision and the will to remove the conflict in our Board of Supervisors so that the community can move forward.
Team work rather than an adversarial approach, we don't have to like or agree with each other but we must respect each other and their ideals.
Put more of Lowndes County citizens into the jobs that we are so fortunate to have here in our county. To train our work force would be the start. We have to make this community proud so that others will be proud to be a part of our community.

I have attended most of the board meetings for the past 20 years and know the issues and the personalities. I know both black people and white people throughout the district and will represent everyone, with my goal being to reduce the long-standing racial divisions in the district.
I will listen to all sides before making a commitment and I will explain my decisions in plain language.
Our biggest challenge is preparing our young people for the workplace, especially for the high-paying new jobs in our industrial park.

I have been in the Mississippi House of Representatives for 12 years and with my seniority, I will be able to get things done for the Golden Triangle, i.e. jobs and economic development.
There are 122 members of the Mississippi House of Representatives. We now have 54 Republicans and if we can pick up eight additional, we can make this state more pro-business, like doing away with the inventory tax and more effective like requiring drug testing for recipients for government assistance, i.e. welfare and unemployment beneficiaries.
Job and economic development. We need to have a trained workforce by creating a dual track high school diploma program to prepare for the workforce and making our state more business friendly by keeping taxes low and regulations to a minimum.

I am the most qualified candidate with valuable seniority of four years in the Mississippi House of Representatives for District 20. I believe that I will have a very excellent chance to be appointed to either the House Appropriations Committee or House Ways and Means Committee. My outstanding leadership and communication skills have helped me to enact important legislation to improve the lives of the citizens of Lowndes and Monroe Counties and Mississippi. I am completely committed as a full time legislator to serve the citizens of District 20.
I pledge to work to implement more educational reforms which would help eliminate the dropout rates in our counties and in the state of Mississippi. We also must improve the graduation rates in our high schools and promote greater training opportunities at our community colleges to enhance more economic development in our area. This will lead to better jobs and more productive citizens.
The most pressing challenges for Lowndes County is to have a Highway 45 bypass built to alleviate the traffic problems in north Columbus, to work with local officials to promote the retention of Columbus Air Force Base in Lowndes County and to prevent the movement of the Mississippi School for Math and Science from the MUW campus. I will continue to support funding of key highway construction projects and education at all levels. I will be available to work with local officials to promote the Columbus Air Force Base and the Mississippi School for Math and Science.

Because I live and work in this community, I have seen first-hand what is needed to keep this area moving forward. I understand the value of the services the representative needs to provide to this community and what you the voter demands.
I will work tirelessly, give leadership, be accessible to all citizens, and responsive to phone calls or letters, but most of all listen to you the voters.
Our struggles today is for the future of our children, making sure that every student has access to a quality education similar to the education programs found in other parts of the country. We cannot continue to fund education in Mississippi at a simply adequate level. I will vote to fully fund education not one time, but every time. Everything must be excellent, including funding, teaching, and our overall expectation. Education goes hand in hand with jobs. Yes we can increase and create jobs in District 36 by increasing the number of small business in Columbus and Lowndes County. We have spend too many years lagging behind in quality education programs, struggling in economic development. I ask you to join me in helping to improve Mississippi's education system and job market in Columbus and Lowndes County.

My background and knowledge in government affairs at the local, regional and state levels. Also my experience as State Representative for the past 19 years makes me the best candidate for this position.
In order to make this office more effective I would explore the feasibility of each county providing office space for their senators and representatives to meet with constituents when needed.
The challenge for Lowndes County is to keep the momentum in economic development as well as maintain a reasonable tax rate. I will address these challenges at the state level as well as try every avenue available to help with the challenges.

I am convinced the voters of District 39 are sick and tired of '€œpolitics as usual.' Tired of career politicians basing their decisions on what is best for their own self-serving political interests, rather than the interests of the voters of Lowndes County. I am a businessman and have spent my adult life right here in Lowndes County building business and creating jobs that support families. I know the burdens government puts on businesses and I will work hard to stop government from choking small businesses. Government has nothing to give anyone except what it takes from someone else. I am the real Republican with the same Republican principles today that I had yesterday and have had my entire adult life. Political gamesmanship and maneuvering is exactly why people are so disgusted with the political process. Put simply, I am the best candidate for this position because I will always put the interest of the people of District 39 ahead of my own personal politics. I will base every decision I make on what is best for the people, not on prevailing political winds.
The first vote that I cast will be a vote to hand the Speaker's gavel to a real Republican. A true conservative like myself who has always been a conservative Republican -” not one that decided to become a Republican overnight. 12 of the top 14 elected officials in our state are Republicans and they need real Republicans controlling the House of Representatives. A real Republican Speaker will be able to work with the next Republican governor to make real effectual change happen in our state. I would also support any and all initiatives that cut government spending and lower tax burdens on Mississippi families and businesses. These decisions will support the backbone of our state's economy. Lower taxes allow employers to keep more of their hard-earned money and use it to create more jobs, which will allow Lowndes County to grow and prosper. Finally, I will support legislation that will improve the quality of our education. A quality education system can give Mississippians a leg up on today's economy. We spend millions on education here in Mississippi. We need to ensure that our education dollars are going into the classroom not to backroom bureaucrats and administrators.
Jobs! The Democrat controlled State House has consistently supported anti-business legislation that prohibit economic anti-business legislation that prohibit economic development, higher taxes, increased operating fees and fines on businesses, and entitlement programs that keep people dependent on government. I will work with other real Republicans to make Mississippi a job-friendly state where our children and grandchildren have the opportunity to stay home, find decent work and raise their own families right here in Lowndes County. Free enterprise, not government, is the engine of personal economic prosperity.

20 years of experience and my ability to work on economic development. Not having the county lose its seniority and a chance to be Speaker of the House.
The House District 39 need to continue to move up the leadership ladder and continue to have the ability to attack major industry. This is done by working knowledge of the system.
We have a balanced budget. There is a danger of loss of leadership if people do not turn out to vote. The county need a potential project looking at the area to commit to building here.
