For the sixth summer in a row, Mississippi State University alumni chapters will hold annual Send-off Parties around the nation. The events are held for new and prospective students, parents, alumni and friends.
Hosted this month through August by the MSU Alumni Association and Office of Admissions and Scholarships, these parties encourage excitement and enthusiasm for incoming students to the 133-year-old land grant institution.
"Last year we had remarkable support from our chapters for this special event," said Jimmy Abraham, associate vice president for development and executive director of the Alumni Association. "This year we hope our Send-Off Parties are even bigger and better than ever before."
During this year''s parties, representatives from the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, Alumni Association and other campus units will answer specific questions regarding life at MSU. University faculty or staff members also take an active part in each gathering.
