MUW, Hinds announce new culinary arts partnership

JACKSON - Hinds Community College and Mississippi University for Women announced details Wednesday of a new agreement that will be a boon for students studying the culinary arts in the Jackson area. 

 

The 2 Plus 2 agreement between Hinds CC and MUW allows culinary arts students to finish a Bachelor of Technology in Professional Studies with a concentration of Culinary Arts at Jackson Campus-Academic/Technical Center, where the Hinds program is based. 

 

A signing ceremony was held March 27 at Jackson Campus-Academic/Technical Center in Jackson. 

 

Speakers included presidents of both colleges -- Hinds President Dr. Clyde Muse and MUW President Dr. Jim Borsig -- a Hinds student in the current program and Erich Ogle, director of MUW's Culinary Arts Institute. 

 

As Mississippi's largest community college, Hinds Community College is a comprehensive institution offering quality, affordable educational opportunities with more than 170 academic, career and technical programs. With six locations in central Mississippi, Hinds enrolled nearly 12,000 credit students in fall 2012.
