Mississippi University for Women Department of Music and the National Association of Composers USA will present a 21st Century Classical Music Concert showcasing the works of composers from the NACUSA Mid-South Region. They include Joe L. Alexander, Lori N. Ardovino, Alan Goldspiel, Olga Harris, William Price and MUW music professors Richard Montalto and Valentin Bogdan.
The concert will feature a wide variety of vocal, instrumental and electronic works, all written this century. The performers include MUW’s own Dr. Julia Mortyakova, Zane Lynn and Dr. Valentin Bogdan, as well as guest soloists who serve as music faculty at the University of Alabama Birmingham, University of Montevallo, Louisiana Tech University and Tennessee State University.
The event will take place Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m., in Kossen Auditorium in Poindexter Hall on campus. The event is free and open to the public.
