Bryan Luncheon with Books -- Friends of West Point's Bryan Public Library present sitting Mississippi Supreme Court Justice and author Randy Pierce, talking about his novel "Magnolia Mud" at noon at the library, 338 Commerce St. Enjoy lunch for a $6 donation to the Friends of the Library. Sounds of Summer -- Bring lawn chairs or blankets and kick back by the water at the Columbus Riverwalk from 7-9 p.m., with free live music by Keith and Margie. Friday, July 11 

 

Friday Night Jam -- The West Point/Clay County Arts Council hosts this free, family-friendly night of music from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Building at Marshall Park on Wood Street in West Point. Entertainment is by the Jams House Band (Roger Merchant, Susie Marshall, Bob Marshall, Glenn Brown, Caleb Merchant and Michael Merchant). 

 

 

 

Saturday, July 12 

 

Book signing -- Candy Grant of Columbus signs copies of her children's book "The Pigs Did It!" at Monograms Plus, 1807 Highway 45 North, Kroger Plaza, Columbus, from 1-5 p.m. A percentage of book sales benefits the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts. 

 

 

 

Saturday, July 19  

 

Hamilton Appreciation Day -- Inflatables, live music, craft vendors, food, a 5K run, cake walk, blood drive and cash drawing are all part of Hamilton, Mississippi's Appreciation Day. Festivities are 11:30 a.m. until evening at the Hamilton School. Proceeds benefit school and community projects. Call 662-343-5160 for more information.

"Casseroles and Mistletoe" -- It's Christmas in July as the Columbus Community Theatre's Casserole Patrol is at it again in this third chapter of the serial saga by Mississippi writer Laura Cole Thrash. Broadway Re-Revued -- Starkville Community Theatre presents "Unexpected Song: Broadway Re-Revued" at 7:30 p.m. nightly (2 p.m. on Sundays) at the Playhouse on Main, 108 E. Main St., Starkville.
