Mississippi University for Women’s Department of Theatre invites you to do the impossible — laugh for one full hour at Mission Improvable Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Cromwell Theatre on campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Mission Improvable is an improvisational ensemble comprised of current students and alumni of The W’s Department of Theatre. During Mission Improvable, the cast will take turns playing games and take suggestions from the audience.
The mission will feature the popular performance of “Press Conference.” During this act, an actor will host a press conference not knowing the audience-suggested situation. The first actor will have to guess their role while other actors will quiz him or her on the situation.
“What makes an improve show great is the spontaneity of it and the audience participation,” said David Carter, chair of the Department of Theatre. “The atmosphere is usually very festive and relaxed.”
Carter encourages everyone to come participate and view the experienced alumni interact with the innovation of current W students.
Cromwell Theatre is located at the corner of 10th Street and Sixth Avenue South.
