OXFORD — For one night only, “American Idol” stars are set to perform an array of holiday favorites at the University of Mississippi.
Billed as the “perfect family concert,” the “American Stars Christmas” is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. General admission tickets are $20 each, available by calling 662-915-7411, going to http://www.olemiss.edu/fordcenter/index.html. Tickets are also available in Oxford at the UM Box Office in the Student Union from noon to 4 p.m. weekdays or the Ford Center Box Office.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to enjoy the holiday season with some of the show”s best stars,” said Norm Easterbrook, Ford Center director.
The two-act concert of Christmas carols and holiday favorites includes solos, duets and group numbers by four “American Idol” performers, including Michael Sarver, a top 10 contestant from season eight; Alexis Grace, a top 11 contestant from season eight; David Hernandez, a top 24 contestant from season seven, and Gina Glocksen, a top 24 contestant from season six. “American Stars Christmas” is directed by Michael Orland.
