The Stephen D. Lee Foundation will host its fifth annual Valentine’s Day Party on Saturday, Feb.14 from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Guests will spend a special evening with friends and family while surrounded by an imaginative and spectacular array of flowers, desserts and spirits, said Foundation President Eulalie Davis.
This year’s event showcases Primrose, built in 1852, the latest historical restoration and renovation by Elizabeth and Dr. John Fields. Dr. and Mrs. Fields have worked tirelessly on saving and preserving one of Columbus’s most interesting antebellum structures. The house will feature some of Dr. Fields’ large collection of antiques and artifacts.
Davis said, “The Foundation is thrilled to pay tribute to a ‘sister’ house that has been saved and preserved for our community. We at the Lee Home know just what time, energy and resources preservation entails, and we thank Dr. and Mrs. Fields for sharing theirs with us and the community. It is always special to spend Valentine’s Day in a house that has been celebrating love and romance for over 150 years.”
The event is a fundraiser for the Stephen D. Lee Home and Museum. Committee members include Diane Gatewood, Sue Hatcher, Judy Livingston, Betty Waters and Lillian Wade.
