Robert Totten, a Mississippi University for Women junior and music therapy student from Memphis, Tennessee, was recently awarded second place at the 2015 Young Artists Competition organized by the Beethoven Club of Memphis, the oldest music club in the South.
At the annual competition, Totten performed “Prelude from Suite Bergamasque” by Claude Debussy and “Rondo Capriccioso” by Felix Mendelssohn. In addition to the age requirement, all entrants had to live within a 250 mile radius of Memphis and all the performances were required to be performed from memory for the competition.
