Jayson Tucker and Jaimy Murff, both students at New Hope High School, have been selected to the 2015 Amro Music Mid-South Honor Band.
Tucker is a senior tuba player and served as drum major, receiving superior ratings at the MHSAA Region I Marching Festival.
Murff is a senior trombone player and serves as the low brass section leader, and previously served as a band captain.
Both are members of the Fairview Baptist Church orchestra and plan to major in music education at the University of North Alabama.
Selection to the Amro Honor Band is based on musical talent, dedication and leadership through example. Approximately 100 outstanding students from Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky and Arkansas are selected each year.
