Lowndes County 4H members competed in the 2015 4H Mississippi State Shooting Sports Invitational in Meridian at the Lauderdale public safety training range July 17-18. Lowndes competitors included Brandi McCullough, Cooper Reed, Austin Stokes, Lauren Revel, Jacob Lowery and Amy Riggs.
McCullough placed first in the .22 Pistol discipline; Austin Stokes placed second in Archery. Amy Riggs placed third in the Muzzleloader/Black Powder discipline, and Jacob Lowery placed fourth overall in the Shotgun discipline. McCullough, Stokes and Riggs qualified to represent Mississippi next summer at the 2016 4H National Shooting Sports Competition to be held in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Lowery recently returned home to Caledonia from Grand Island, where he represented Lowndes County and Mississippi in the 2015 National 4H Shooting Sports Invitational. His 4H Shotgun placed ninth overall at this event.
