Mississippi University for Women’s Office of Campus Recreation is inviting the community to exercise and party for a good cause Monday, Sept. 21.
This year’s annual Charity Fitness Party sponsored by the Wellness Program at Campus Recreation will benefit Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center of Columbus. The program will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Pohl Gymnasium.
Marion McEwen, wellness coordinator of Campus Recreation, said the center was chosen to bring about awareness of its role in the community.
“LCPC is a local nonprofit agency with goals to help counsel, assist and educate women of all ages about pregnancies and the health of their families. The center is always in need of baby and maternity items,” she said. More information about the center is available at lifechoices.org.
A range of fitness classes, including POUND, R.I.P.P.E.D. and Zumba, will be presented by The W, YMCA and Columbus-Lowndes Recreation Authority.
The cost of admission is one baby item such as diapers, wipes, etc.
Special entertainment will be provided by local dance teams, including The W’s dance group, Audacity.
For more information about the fitness party or to make a donation, contact McEwen at 662-241-7494 or email [email protected].
