Christmas Tour of Homes — The First United Methodist Church Parsonage (1008 Third Ave. N.), Highland House (810 Highland Circle), Ole Magnolia (1219 Third Ave. N.), Rosewood Manor (719 Seventh St. N.) and Snowdoun (906 Third Ave. N.) in Columbus are open for tour from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $25 ($20 students; $15 ages 5-10), available at any of the homes. Proceeds benefit the 2016 FUMC Jamaican Missions Trip. Courtesy transportation available from the FUMC Sixth Street South parking lot on the approximate half hour. “Merry Christmas, Columbus” — Fairview Baptist Church, 127 Airline Road, Columbus, presents its annual community Christmas program, a collaboration of the drama team, 100+-voice choir and orchestra. The 6:30 p.m. event is free and open to the public.
First Christmas — Visit an interactive village of Bethlehem from 6-8 p.m. on the grounds of Brickerton on Military Road (near Highway 82 access ramps) in Columbus (weather permitting). Presented by First Baptist Church and Brickerton, First Christmas includes the recreation of an ancient marketplace, complete with merchants, Roman soldiers and the Holy Family. “Christmas in the Park” — Take a driving tour through Guthrie Smith Park in Fayette, Alabama, to view dozens of animated and illuminated scenes. Entry is $1 per car. Rides on the mini-train are offered on weekends for a nominal fee. The park is located near the intersection of Columbus Street and Temple Avenue North in Fayette.

“Jamz’ Christmas Carol” — Columbus Community Theatre Youth presents this “urban take on the Dickens classic” written and directed by Columbus’ Chelsea Petty, at 7 p.m. nightly, plus a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee at the Rosenzweig Arts Center, 501 Main St. Tickets are $5, available at the center; 662-328-2787, or purchase at columbus-arts.org.

David Phelps in concert — Christian recording artist and Grammy winner David Phelps is featured in “Christmas for Columbus” at Mississippi University for Women’s Rent Auditorium at 7 p.m., presented by First United Methodist Church. An area mass choir performs with Phelps. Tickets are $25 (Artist’s Circle $35) at First United Methodist Church, 602 Main St. and iTickets.com.
