The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) has selected Kimberly Mason Peeples of Starkville as a recipient of a $20,000 Counseling Fellowship. As a NBCC Minority Fellowship Program Fellow, Peeples will receive funding and training to support her education and facilitate her service to underserved minority populations.
Peeples, a graduate of Mississippi State University, is a doctoral student in the counselor education and supervision program. She serves as the clinic coordinator of the departmental counseling training clinic at MSU. She has presented on the topic of microaggressions in the supervisory relationship at state, national and international conferences. She has worked primarily with underserved at-risk youth as an acute therapist.
