The Columbus Arts Council will host its annual live and silent auctions and Dining for Art gala Saturday, March 27, at 7 p.m. at the Rosenzweig Arts Center in downtown Columbus.
The event, featuring entertainment by the Class of ”65, will cap a two-week period of Dining for Art themed parties ranging from “Soup and Stitch” to “Mardi Gras Around the World.”
Live and silent auctions featuring original art, as well as items and services from local and regional businesses — and a football signed by Alabama”s championship team — will start the night off March 27. Heavy hors d”oeuvres and libations will be served.
Tickets are $50 per person and admit the bearer to two parties — a theme pre-party and the gala. Space at theme parties is limited; to reserve tickets, contact the Columbus Arts Council, 501 Main St., 662-328-2787 (ARTS).
Dining for Art is the primary source of funding for the many diverse events, concerts, exhibits, classes and camps the arts council offers year-round.
Eat out on Thursdays
In conjunction with Dining for Art, four Columbus restaurants are generously participating in Dine out for Art during March.
Each Thursday, a different restaurant will donate 10 percent of its sales for the day to the Columbus Arts Council.
The Green Olive was the first benefactor of the month. Others supporting arts in the community are Huck”s Place on March 11, J. Broussard”s on March 18 and Harvey”s on March 25.
