Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC), Golden Triangle, is currently accepting applications for its fall semester of job and life skills training.
A ministry of the Golden Triangle Baptist Association and Woman’s Missionary Union, CWJC offers free educational training for women, unemployed or underemployed, who need additional skills for life and for securing and sustaining work.
CWJC training is open to all women, regardless of religious beliefs or situations, in Clay, Lowndes and Oktibbeha counties. Program orientation will be Thursday, Sept. 1, with classes beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6. Classes will be conducted Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 6 through Nov. 10 from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. A concluding program celebration will be Nov. 15.
Interested women should contact CWJC at 662-722-3016 or email [email protected]. The enrollment process includes an application and an interview. Participant enrollment closes Friday, Aug. 26.
Classes will be held at the CWJC site in Starkville at 207 S. Lafayette.
A faith-based program, CWJC provides participants guidance in gaining life and job skills that will help provide personal stability in these areas. Classes include non-denominational Bible study along with basic computer, communications, resume writing, interview preparation, money management, conflict and anger management, marriage and family living, and preparations for meaningful employment.
Rita Usher, CWJC site coordinator, says of the program, “CWJC strives to offer women acceptance, hope and restoration in a Christ-honoring environment. It’s an effective women helping women initiative.”
