Mississippi Bicentennial exhibit –Visit Columbus hosts the first in a series of statewide exhibitions of two of Mississippi’s most significant artifacts, the original 1817 Mississippi Constitution and the U.S. flag that flew over the nation after Mississippi became a state. Today at 3 p.m. at Trotter Convention Center, former U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts (R-Oklahoma) will make remarks. Musical entertainment. Open to the community (3-5 p.m. Oct. 2; 1-5 p.m. Oct. 3.) Caledonia Days — This two-day festival features a free 7 p.m. concert Oct. 14 with Neon Smoke at Ola J. Shakespeare Saturday — Columbus Community Theatre presents a recitation contest joining a worldwide celebration of Shakespeare’s works in the 400th year since his death.
