Providing demonstrations, classes and other activities, an Oct. 24-28 Campus Safety Week at Mississippi University for Women will emphasize topics ranging from fire safety and personal defense to active shooter responses and prevention of domestic violence.
Events are sponsored by the Dean of Students Office and the MUW Police Department.
“We think it is important to provide educational resources in as many aspects of safety as we can identify,” said Dean of Students Sirena Cantrell. “There is much each of us can do to enhance our personal safety in a variety of situations and to be alert to potential danger.”
Most programs are scheduled during the noon hour, with some longer ones in the evening. A number of community organizations are providing presentations. The public is invited.
