Lowndes County 4-H was well represented at the 2016 Mississippi State Fair held in Jackson on Oct. 6-15 said Extension Agent Reid Nevins. Members Lauren Revel, Ella Shepherd and Jay Moore showed dairy goats, cattle and poultry.
Revel showed her Angus heifer calf in Showmanship and in the Angus cattle show. She placed third in Dairy Goat Showmanship. In Senior Does, she had two first place finishes and one second place with Best Senior Lamancha Dor. In Junior Does, she had one first place finish and one third place finish with Reserve Best Lamancha Junior Doe.
Shepherd placed third in Dairy Goat Showmanship. In Senior Does, she had a first place and a second place finish. In Junior Dairy Goat Does, she took a second, a third and a fourth place.
In Poultry, Revel placed fourth in Senior Poultry Meat category. Shepherd placed sixth in the Junior Layer category. Moore placed sixth in the Junior Meat category.
