The Mississippi State University Extension Service is once again offering Quick Bites programs for the public this month. These interactive video programs touch on a wide variety of topics. Two will be “Women’s Health Week” set for May 11 and “Avoiding the Summer Slide” scheduled for May 25.
The sessions are offered from noon to 1 p.m.
“Now that the Extension Office has moved to a new building at 485 Tom Rose Road, there is ample room for all who would like to attend,” said Extension Agent Vivian Cade. Sessions will also be held in Bost 409 for those who are on the Mississippi State campus.
On May 11, health and wellness educator Mandy Conrad of the Longest Student Health Center at MSU will provide practical tips to promote healthy nutrition practices specific to women’s health concerns and offer solutions to typical barriers faced by women who are trying to live a healthier lifestyle.
Lori Matzek, Extension associate with the Center for Technology Outreach, shares ways children can prevent the “summer slide” of losing math skills over summer by engaging in fun activities using readily available materials.
To participate in one or both of the programs, contact the Extension office at 662-328-2111.
