Black and White Ball — This annual event supporting National Night Out on Crime and Columbus’ city-wide toy drive starts at 7 p.m. at Trotter Convention Center. Tickets are $25 (VIP tables $225) and include entertainment by Logan and Just a Few Cats, and dinner by Huck’s Place. Sizzling Second Saturday — The Hitching Lot Farmers’ Market, 7-10 a.m. at Second Street and Second Avenue North, Columbus, features highlights including a pet parade at 8 a.m., a visit by the Army Corps of Engineers, demos by MUW’s Project CHEW, face painting and keychain-making, not to mention fresh produce and crafts. The market is open Mondays 4-6 p.m. and Thursday and Saturdays 7-10 a.m.
