A three-course dinner, wine tasting, silent auction and a performing arts variety show — including two previous Magnolia Film Festival-winning films — are in store for those attending the Starkville Area Arts Council’s annual gala Nov. 18.
“Eye on the Arts” is the theme of this year’s event to be held at the Hunter Henry Center on the campus of Mississippi State University from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“We have changed to a formal three-course dinner and added a variety show to entertain guests,” said gala chair Dorothy Watson Hendrick. The event includes a wine tasting by Scotty’s Wine and Spirits and features a new caterer, Hendrick added. A three-night stay at a Destin beachfront condo and a “Cabernet and Canvas” paint party will be among the many silent auction items up for bid.
“The evening is going to be spectacular. I wouldn’t miss it!” Hendrick said.
The SAAC, now in its third decade, sponsors the Cotton District Arts Festival, conducts outreach programs and awards almost $30,000 annually in grants and scholarships throughout Oktibbeha County in its mission to build a strong, creative community through the arts.
