Mystery and romance will be key ingredients in an entertaining evening of “whodunit” in Starkville Feb. 8. An annual Mystery Theatre Dinner benefiting United Way of North Central Mississippi begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn.
The Detectives Theatre troupe out of Jackson will premiere “Double the Love,” a new production written especially for the fundraiser.
“This troupe is well known to the area, and their audiences always respond to their performances with a unanimous request for more,” said United Way-NCMS Executive Director Candy Crecink.
“It’s a definite mystery, with a bit of romantic twists and turns to spice it up, according to Detectives member Kiane Bounds,” Crecink added.
The evening will begin with appetizers and beverages as attendees select their table and partner with fellow mystery solvers. Throughout dinner, patrons will be drawn into the scenes and put their collective sleuthing skills to work to solve the mystery unfolding around them.
“Clues are boundless, and there will be laughter, tweaks on the cheek and a possible smooch or two assured,” Crecink said.
To cap off the evening, a drawing for a “romantic surprise” for two will be held.
“Everyone will want to make sure their ticket stub is included for a chance to win,” the director said.
