The Lowndes County Chapter of Mississippi”s First Alumnae Association will host its Annual Business Meeting Thursday, July 22, at the Columbus Country Club. The luncheon will begin with registration at 11:45 a.m. All MUW alums and friends are invited to attend. Officers will be installed to serve for the 2010-11 year.
This year, the guest speaker will be Allegra Brigham, Class of 1969, who assumed the position of Interim President of MUW on July 1. She retired June 30 as CEO of Four-County Electric Power Association after many years of service. She will give an update on campus news.
The Lowndes County Chapter of MFAeA has been led this year by President John Prevost. Tori Pumphrey served as vice president. Other officers were Lydia Pierce, secretary; Elaine Evans, treasurer; and Maye Vest, immediate past president.
Mississippi”s First Alumnae Association is the historic alumnae association that has served Mississippi University for Women continuously since it was established by the first graduating class in 1889. The first graduating class, cherishing the value of the education they had received, established the association to help make the W Experience possible for generations to come and to promote their connections to the college they loved.
