Sounds of Summer is back for its 12th year. The four-part, free family-friendly summer concert series returns to the Columbus Riverwalk Thursday, June 13, with music by Style the Band from 7-9 p.m.
Sounds of Summer is a joint collaboration between the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Columbus that takes place four weeks during June and July.
The second series concert on June 27 features Juke Joint Gypsies. Swing Shift takes center stage July 11. The Bouncing Betty concludes the series July 25.
Admission is free. Food and drink vendors will be on site. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the entertainment.
Sounds of Summer has been named a Top 20 Event for June and July by the Southeast Tourism Society for the past seven years. The series is made possible through volunteers and sponsors such as Paul Davis Restoration; Wendy’s; BankFirst; PACCAR; Edward Jones Investments; Neel-Schaffer; Nash FM 94.9; Shipp Family Dentistry; Kenneth Montgomery; Steven C. “There is something for everyone at Sounds of Summer,” said Barbara Bigelow, Main Street Columbus executive director. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to showcase our community and local talent with an event the public enjoys every summer.”
“Sounds of Summer would not be possible without our business sponsors and volunteers, and we are so appreciative of them,” said Lisa James, Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce president. “We love partnering with Main Street Columbus, our sponsors and volunteers to help deliver quality, family-friendly events to our area year after year.”
