Allison Elizabeth Johnson and Colby Lloyd Brister were married October 24, 2014, at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Columbus, with the Rev. Raigan Miskelly officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Al Johnson and Dr. Susan Johnson of Columbus. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dudley Newell, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albin Evan Johnson Jr., all of Columbus. She was given in marriage by her father. She wore a shimmer tulle ballgown with a sweep train and bodice accented with beaded lace motifs. The scalloped neckline and plunging back were complete with a heavily beaded satin ribbon at the waistline. She carried a bouquet of David Austin roses, cream hydrangeas and spray roses. Abbey Margaret Johnson of Columbus served as maid of honor. Anna Crossley Raley of West Point, cousin of the bride, and Amanda Brister Clark of White House, Tennessee, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaids. Attendants wore long flowing, taupe-colored strapless, chiffon dresses with sweetheart neckline, pleated bodices and satin belts with crystal embellishments. They carried bouquets of roses and cream hydrangeas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Lloyd Brister of West Point. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lois Vivian Barton of Starkville, Mrs. Lloyd Guy Brister of Winona, and the late Mr. Lloyd Guy Brister. The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Charles Evan Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee, brother of the bride, and Brandon Michael Clark of White House, brother-in-law of the groom. The couple resides in Starkville, where the groom is a self-employed Internet marketer, and the bride is a nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
