Katie Elizabeth McShan and John Paul Holmes IV were married at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10, 2016, at St. Francis at the Point Anglican Church in Point Clear, Alabama, with the Rev. Claire Dobbs officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Clements McShan of Columbus. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Howard Tyson of Kinston, North Carolina, Mrs. Bettye McShan Baumhauer of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Mr. John Tyler McShan Jr. of McShan, Alabama. She was given in marriage by her father. The bride wore a couture A-line ballgown of Chantilly floral lace suspended from spaghetti straps, with a natural waist and a voluminous skirt of silk tulle. The gown was complemented by a cathedral-length lace veil. Maye Estelle McShan of Columbus, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Tyler Allgood of Atlanta, cousin of the bride; Carter Harrison Glenn of Nashville, Tennessee; Catherine Grace Hunt of New York, New York; Quinn Edmonson Irby of Atlanta; Samantha Kristen Kerr of Denver, Colorado; Camille Fairlie Mercer of Savannah, Georgia; Katherine Scott Monsees of Savannah; Remington Vaden Fitzgerald Poydasheff of Atlanta; Kate Evelyn Sadler of New York; and Adrienne Zullo Totoro of New York. Bridal attendants wore floor-length strapless dresses of sand-colored tulle. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Holmes III of Macon, Georgia. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Holmes Jr., and Mr Charles Neil Sims and the late Mrs. Waunelle Sims of Douglas, Georgia. The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were William Satterthwaite Bridges of Atlanta; Henry Wilbur Harper IV of Roswell, Georgia; Neil Sims Holmes of Atlanta, brother of the groom; Wellman Brady Hughes of Atlanta; James Leland Jackson III of Macon, Georgia; Stuart Lawrence Kenny of New York, New York; John Catlett Martin III of Atlanta; Hunter Clements McShan Jr. of Columbus, brother of the bride; Ryann Wynn Salisbury of New York; Kenneth Stanley Taratus III of Atlanta; and James Moncrief Wells IV of Macon, Georgia. Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple resides in Atlanta, where the bride is employed by New York public relations agency LaForce & Co. and the groom is employed by the real estate firm CBRE.
