Sarah Hampton Portera and Brice Michael Cambas were married Nov. 7, 2009, at the Louis XVI courtyard of the Saint Louis Hotel in New Orleans, La., with the Rev. Taze Russell Fletcher Jr. officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Pleasant Portera and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hampton Phyfer Jr., and Mrs. Phillip Joseph Portera and the late Mr. Portera, all of West Point. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory strapless, empire waist silk shantung gown by Mon Cheri, with the empire waist encrusted with pearls, beading and Swarovski crystals, and a chapel length train. Her elbow length veil was gathered into a pearl and crystal comb into which her hair was swept. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, miniature calla lilies, hypericum berries, white stock, and coils of variegated lily grass, gathered into a wide ivory satin ribbon. Laura Alexander Terry of Birmingham, Ala., served as maid of honor. Elizabeth Conners Theibert of Birmingham, Brittany Fayth Cambas of Washington, D.C., sister of the groom, and Margaret Hampton Hay of West Point all served as bridesmaids. Sarah Jane Hay of West Point served as flower girl. Attendants wore cocktail length cafe au lait satin dresses with chocolate banding on the empire waist. The flower girl wore a chocolate taffeta and netting dress with chocolate beading and crystals on the empire waist. They carried nosegays of green cymbidium orchids with hypericum berries and alstromeria lilies, tied with a chocolate satin ribbon. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Michael Cambas of Kenner, La., and the grandson of Mrs. Linda Shurden Fox of River Ridge, La., and the late Mr. Joseph Feduccia, and Mrs. Theophile Holland Cambas and the late Mr. Cambas, of Abita Springs, La. John Michael Christovich of Columbia, S.C., served as best man. Robert Edward Kneip of New York, William Bratton Portera of Memphis, Tenn., brother of the bride, and William Anthony Hay Jr. of West Point all served as groomsmen. Hal Gregory Fox III of Robert, La., served as ring bearer. The couple resides in New Orleans, where the groom is pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Loyola School of Law and the bride a Master of Arts degree at Louisiana State University. The couple will be honeymooning in Costa Rica this summer.
