STARKVILLE -- Mississippi State's football team will return to the practice fields on Friday after a nearly two-week break following the team's 31-3 regular season victory over the University of Mississippi. The Bulldogs will practice 11 times on campus before taking a Christmas break and reconvening in Nashville after the holiday in preparation for the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.
Dan Mullen's Bulldogs team will take to the practice fields on Friday evening in a closed session before holding a week of practices open to fans and the media. The first open practice (held at the Shira Complex practice fields) will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. The team will take Sunday off before practicing each of the next three afternoons. A Thursday morning session will proceed a full scrimmage at Davis Wade Stadium on Friday, December 16 beginning at 5 p.m.
All practices held on the practice fields will be open, however inclement weather may force the team inside the Palmeiro Center and those practices would be closed to the public.
The team will conduct four more workouts on the Mississippi State campus from Sunday, Dec. 17 to Tuesday, Dec. 20 before breaking for Christmas. The team will arrive in Nashville on Monday, Dec. 26 and begin on-site preparations with practice at Vanderbilt University on Monday evening.
