STARKVILLE - The Southeastern Conference announced Monday the times and television information for the first three weeks of play in the 2012 football season and MSU will get a national television platform for its conference opener.
The contest in Starkville will represent the league opener for both schools.
On Sept. 8 when the Bulldogs host Auburn University at Davis Wade Stadium, the contest will be show on ESPN at 11 a.m. and
The season-opener against Jackson State on September 1 will kick off at 6 p.m. under the lights of Davis Wade stadium in Starkville and will be broadcasted by Fox Sports Net.
The contest versus Aubrun, which will immediately follow the network's College Gameday preview show, will be MSU's 16th appearance on a ESPN affiliate broadcast since head coach Dan Mullen took over the program over four years ago.
The Bulldogs haven't defeated Auburn since 2007 and haven't beaten the Tigers in Starkville since 2000.
MSU will open its 2012 season against Jackson State University on Sept. 1 with a 6 p.m. home kickoff that will be broadcasted by Fox Sports Net.
As previously announced months ago, the Bulldogs only non-conference road game at Troy University on Sept. 15 which will kickoff at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.com.
