Gameday Capsule: Ole Miss at MSU

OLE MISS (11-15, 4-9) at MISSISSIPPI STATE (18-8, 6-7)

BROADCAST INFO: 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network with Mike Morgan and Dane Bradshaw, plus Neil Price and Richard Williams on the MSU Radio Network.

OLE MISS' LAST 5: L 79-70 vs. Auburn, L 94-61 at Tennessee, L 75-69 vs. Missouri, L 82-66 at LSU, L 75-64 vs. Arkansas.

MSU's LAST 5: W 81-76 at South Carolina, W 72-57 vs. Georgia, W 67-63 vs. Alabama, L 89-85 (OT) at Missouri, L 81-80 at Vanderbilt.

WHAT OLE MISS HAS DONE SINCE LAST MEETING: For the couple of weeks immediately following beating MSU in Oxford, Ole Miss looked like a team on pace to do good things: they were beating tough teams at home and playing crazy close with good teams on the road, even if those games ended in losses. Then the wheels fell off: the Rebels are riding a six-game losing streak and it feels like each loss has been more ugly than the last. Ole Miss was flat-out non-competitive at LSU (not a good sign) and lacked the life it almost always has at home in its losses to Missouri and Arkansas in the last two weeks. Coach Andy Kennedy made it pretty clear in postgame press conferences recently: this is a team searching for answers and doesn't currently have a good lead on any.

G 1 Deandre Burnett, Sr., 6'2", 192 -- 14.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 4.2 apg, 80.3 percent free throw shooter, 24 points in last game.

F 12 Bruce Stevens, Jr., 6'8", 252 -- 10.1 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.2 bpg, tends to take more shots on the road with 33 attempts in his last four road games compared to 23 in his last four home games.

G 11 Quinndary Weatherspoon, Jr., 6'4", 205 -- 14.7 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.5 spg, six shot attempts against Vanderbilt was his lowest of SEC play.

F 35 Aric Holman, Jr., 6'10", 225 -- 11.3 ppg, 6.8 rpg, two blocks away from moving into a tie for seventh in school history with 117 career blocks.

F 24 Abdul Ado, R-Fr., 6'11", 250 -- 8.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 2 bpg, 24 steals in 25 games, 6-6 from the field in the last game.

NOTES: KenPom gives MSU a 74 percent chance of winning this game with a projected final score of 77-70...Ole Miss still hasn't found a consistent starting lineup: it is one of six teams in the nation to use at least 15 different combinations...This is MSU's second straight game against a team ranked in the 90s in KenPom, a rarity in this year's strong SEC...Ole Miss has been very good at limiting turnovers, ranking 29th in the nation in offensive turnover percentage.
