Preseason Practice Report, Day 7: Video of the tight ends and injury news

- The team was in shoulder pads but shorts today. The last two days, when weather forced the team to the indoor facility, they went in full pads, pants pads included. The team will scrimmage on Saturday, so I assume the full pads will return.

- On the injury beat: left tackle Greg Eiland was practicing fully after missing the last two practices with a boot on his right foot. Wide receiver Stephen Guidry was with the wide receivers in practice, but I didn't see him actually take a rep. He used to be with the injured players but not practicing by any stretch of the imagination, or at least in the periods we saw. Safety Johnathan Abram was practicing but in a yellow jersey, which means limited contact. Defensive end Marquiss Spencer was in a yellow jersey and not practicing, riding the exercise bike alongside a new injury: linebacker Alec Murphy.

- I saw the following guys working in the slot today: Austin Williams, Cason Grant, Keith Mixon, Deddrick Thomas and Malik Dear. It was one drill and this staff is known to crosstrain its wide receivers, Williams in particular, so I wouldn't say those slot roles are set in stone. But it was one of few times the periods we get to see made a true line in the sand for us to judge in this department.
