Preseason Practice Report, Day 15: Notes and video from final practice opening

- Before injury news, I saw the offensive linemen do a cool drill where they were working on zone blocking. A primary principle of zone is to put a temporary double team on a linemen, then release one blocker to the next level. That releasing blocker is forced to kind of block that linemen with little more than his shoulder and elbow, so he doesn't too tied up and is thus free to get to a linebacker. So the linemen were working on that exact technique, blocking people with their elbows, moving them a few yards and releasing to the linebacker.

- Another interesting practice note: the quarterbacks and wide receivers used their individual time in short-yardage situations, for the first time all preseason. Outside receivers running fades, slot guys running flat corners to the back pylon or short double moves, things like that.

- Injury news: Running back Aeris Williams was out of his yellow limited contact jersey, practicing fully, as was sweaty Shawn Preston Jr. Wide receiver Cameron Gardner was practicing, but in the yellow jersey. All of them improved their practice status from yesterday to today.
