The Columbus Air Force Base received an overall Satisfactory grade Monday after a week-long inspection of the unit by 113 military and civilian experts.
Of the 100 or so areas inspected, five received the top grade of Outstanding, 44 received the second highest grade of Excellent and the rest received Satisfactory grades, said Col. Barre Seguin.
The base did not receive either the Marginal or Unsatisfactory grades in any area, Seguin added.
“I couldn”t be more pleased and proud of our airmen,” he said Monday.
The bi-annual inspection, called “our World Series” by an Air Force spokesman, was one of four inspections at the base in the past month and has been a priority for the base since May 2008.
The other three inspections, which looked at areas like weather flights and air crews, all returned “excellent” grades, Seguin said.
