A Monroe County man died in a one-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon.
C.L. Webb, 72, was traveling south on Wolfe Road near Gattman in Monroe County at about 1:07 p.m., when he ran off roadway and struck a tree, according to Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley.
“A neighbor saw him pass her house and then heard the wreck,” Gurley wrote in a press release. “There were no other vehicles involved.”
Webb was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.
“He had some recent medical problems that may have cause him to wreck, but I am ruling he died from a head injury received in the accident,” Gurley wrote.
Webb was driving a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup and was not wearing a seat belt.
The Monroe County Sheriff”s Office also investigated the accident, which happened about a quarter mile north of Webb”s home.
