Columbus residents are invited to attend a public workshop Thursday night at Trotter Convention Center to discuss the next decade of city development.
The City of Columbus Comprehensive Planning Committee, along with its planning and design firm, KPS Group of Birmingham, will meet on April 14 at 5:30 p.m. on the lower level of the convention center to solicit feedback on what people envision for the future of the city. Attendance was scant at the first meeting to discuss the 10-year plan. Barely a dozen citizens showed up to voice their likes and dislikes about the city.
Thursday”s meeting is the second in a series of workshops that will be held at Trotter every second Thursday through August.Topics will include policies for future land use, transportation, community and economic development. Interim City Planner Christina Berry said she hopes the city will have a formal list of short and long-term goals by September.
