The Oktibbeha County Sheriff”s Office is investigating a home invasion which sent three victims to the hospital, one in intensive care.
Sheriff”s deputies were called to 1667 Arnold Drive in the Sunset subdivision off of Highway 12 West between 10-11 p.m. Wednesday after a robbery was reported. Three masked men allegedly forced their way into the home wielding clubs and assaulted three men. A dispatcher informed responding deputies the three victims were forced to beg for their lives.
Two of the victims were treated for multiple lacerations at Oktibbeha County Hospital and a third victim, identified by a neighbor as Johnny Young, remained hospitalized Thursday in good condition in the Intensive Care Unit of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus.
Young is believed to be in his 50s and possibly disabled.
The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and personal items. OCSO Chief Deputy George Carrithers said the victims did not know their attackers.
