Lowndes plans to test tornado sirens Wednesday

Ryan Poe

Columbus-Lowndes Emergency Management is testing its tornado warning siren system Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Emergency Management asks that people without emergencies refrain from calling 911 when they hear the siren. Instead, call 662-329-5110 to report a siren that doesn''t work.

The monthly test will be canceled in the case of severe weather.
