A 32-year-old man was fatally shot in front of his girlfriend early this morning, and Columbus police are still seeking the suspect.
Edmund Demond Mosley was standing in the parking lot of 517 13th St. N. around 1:08 a.m., when he went inside his apartment to get some speakers.
When he returned to the parking lot, a subject appeared “out of nowhere,” said something to him and shot him twice, according to Columbus Police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant said Mosley was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle shortly after 2 a.m.
Police are still gathering leads on the suspect.
The shooting is the second in the city of Columbus since last Monday.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Columbus Police Department at 662-244-3570 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
