Ranzino Ahmad Harris will not get his day in court until next calendar year.
Harris, of 301 Bishop Circle No. 8 in Columbus, was set to come before 16th Circuit Judge Lee Coleman during the recent Lowndes County Circuit Court session, but his trial was continued until Feb. 12, 2012.
Harris is charged with murder and aggravated assault in the killing of Justin Murry, 21, and shooting of Michael Brewer, 22, at a home on Schoolhouse Avenue on May 17, 2010.
Other murder trials continued
Three additional murder trials were continued until the next Lowndes Circuit Court session in November:
- Sylvester N. Johnson”s capital murder trial was continued by Coleman until Nov. 16. Johnson, of 1407 Cloverdale Place in Aberdeen, is accused of shooting Clarence “Big C” Trimble at Big C”s Game Room in north Lowndes County, on Oct. 24, 2009.
- Lee Major Wilder Jr.”s capital murder trial was continued by Judge Lee Howard until Nov. 28. Wilder, of 1508 15th Ave. N. in Columbus, is accused of shooting Cornelius Cunningham, 29, on Sept. 18, 2008, at the victim”s apartment.
- Rennie Gibbs” murder trial was continued by Judge Jim Kitchens until Dec. 5. Gibbs, of 300 S. Lehmberg Road No. 25 in Columbus, faces murder charges after a cocaine overdose caused the stillbirth of her baby in Dec. 2006.
Additional trials continued
The following trials also were continued until the next Lowndes County Circuit Court session:
- Melissa Jean Holt, of 1799 Williams Road No. 7 in Caledonia, is charged with three counts of exploitation, one count of fondling and one count of rape. Holt”s trial was continued by Coleman until November.
- David Arthur Gill, of 7785 Gilmer Wilburn Road in Artesia, is charged with sexual battery. Gill”s case was continued by Coleman until Nov. 16. Gill is accused of raping his granddaughter, who was 16 at the time of his arrest in June 2010.
- Angela Marie Shoemake, of 276 Wells Drive in Caledonia, is charged with child exploitation. Shoemake”s case was continued by Coleman until Nov. 30. Shoemake is accused of taking pornographic photographs of her two sons, who were 8 and 6 years old at the time of her Aug. 16 arrest.
- Wilson Earl Lewis, of 426 W. Minnie Vaughn Road in Columbus, is charged with statutory rape. Lewis” case was continued by Coleman until Nov. 29.
