Two employees at separate businesses were arrested for felony embezzlement from a restaurant and an automotive supply store Wednesday.
Beverly Callicott, 47, of 9918 Wolfe Road in Columbus, a former employee of Brauhaus restaurant on Military Road, was arrested and charged with embezzlement for writing checks worth $1,500 on the company account.
In an unrelated incident, Jereme Barnes, 21, of 17th St. N.W. in Aliceville, Ala., was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday at Auto Zone on Alabama Street in Columbus, where he worked.
Terrie Songer, of the Columbus Police Department, said Barnes was accused of making false product returns totaling $1,400 between June and September.
