The Artesia Public Library, Caledonia Public Library and Crawford Public Library, all branches of the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library System, recently received more than 80 books each from the Libri Foundation.
The Libri Foundation is a nationwide nonprofit organization which donates new, quality hardcover children”s books to small, rural public libraries in the United States through its Books for Children grant program. With the help of a donation of $1,050 from the Friends of the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library, 240 total books were received, at a value of $3,150.
“Many of the titles received are award winners, and all of them are wonderful additions to the collections at each library,” said Erin Stringer, Columbus library deputy director. As an added bonus, the Libri Foundation graciously donated up to 20 math and science books for each library location.
For more information about these books, contact the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library at 662-329-5300 or visit the library at 314 Seventh St. N.
