Columbus police arrested three people Wednesday afternoon for two separate crimes, one a felony shoplifting charge and the other an auto burglary charge.
Niesha Bonsha Blair, 29, of 225 Tuscaloosa Road in Columbus, and Taquanda Mercedes Hooks, 21, of 501 Brooks Road, Apt. C-19 in Columbus, were arrested Wednesday afternoon for shoplifting.
They allegedly stole two flat screen televisions and a DVD player from Walmart on July 14.
According to Interim Columbus Police Chief Selvain McQueen, police received a crimestoppers tip regarding the incident, which led to the arrests.
The bond for both is set at $2,500, and the preliminary hearing date is set for Nov. 3. The charge is a felony.
Willie L. Richardson, 43, of 610 22nd St. N. Apt. E in Columbus, was arrested Wednesday afternoon for auto burglary, a felony charge. The incident occurred Sept. 7 at 1913 Washington Ave. when Richardson allegedly burglarized a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche.
“He admitted to the victim that he had did it,” McQueen said.
His court date and bond had not been set as of Thursday morning.
