Volunteerism gets a boost Dec. 16 with the inaugural Party With a Purpose.
Volunteer Starkville, which spearheads community service in the city, will host the event at the Hilton Garden Inn. Tickets are $50, and the entertainment begins at 7 p.m.
G.C. Cameron, former lead singer for The Spinners and The Temptations, will lead the entertainment. The party also will include a silent auction, food and wine.
Proceeds benefit Volunteer Starkville, which is expanding its opportunities with Maroon Volunteer and Starkville Youth.
Advanced tickets are $40 and can be purchased at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership Building on Main Street.
