PERKINSTON — Homecoming festivities are over but Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is far from done celebrating its centennial anniversary.
The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/vY4l9P ) Dr. Mary Graham, was formally recognized as the school’s 12th president in an investiture ceremony during Homecoming. A MGCCC graduate, she has worked at the college for 24 years, including 14 years as vice president at the Perkinston campus, and transitioned to president in July.
Centennial homecoming events in October attracted thousands of alumni and community members. Continuing with the 100th anniversary celebration, events recognizing different aspects of the college’s influence are planned each month leading up to the 2012 graduation in May.
Graham says MGCCC currently boasts an enrollment of more than 10,000.
