UPDATE: Columbus police have a suspect in custody after a shooting this morning left a 17-year-old male injured. Police surrounded the Sanderson Plumbing plant in Columbus some time after 11 a.m. to search for a juvenile male believed to be responsible for the shooting. Authorities believed he fled to the plant and was hiding there, police said.
Columbus police located the suspect at his Southside Columbus home. Authorities are not releasing the name of the suspect or the victim. The 17-year-old was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for treatment. The extent of his injuries remains unknown.
Police responded to the call of shots fired near Moss Street just off Waterworks Road at about 11 o’clock this morning.
