JACKSON — The Mississippi Parole Board has refused early release for a man convicted of felony fleeing in the death of a Mississippi state trooper.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal said the action was taken in the case of Williams Francis.
Trooper Steve Hood was killed in May 2009 when he lost control of his vehicle and was killed while pursuing a vehicle driven by Francis near Guntown. Francis pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 40 years in prison with 33 years suspended.
