Crime Report 5/19/09


Dispatch Staff Reports



The following incidents were reported by the Columbus Police Department: 


  • Mennicha Brewer, of 1609 Seventh St. S., Friday at 2 p.m. reported her home was burglarized. Three flat screen television sets and a Compaq computer monitor were missing. CPD Investigator Gary Moore responded to the scene and lifted prints from the door. A neighbor, who watches Brewer''s children, said she saw three boys running down the street with TVs in their hands. 


  • Jakki Harris Saturday at 11:01 p.m. stated she parked her car at the American Best Value Inn at 510 Highway 45 N. in the parking lot; when she returned to her 1995 Nissan Sentra the next morning, she discovered her front passenger''s side window was busted out and her wallet missing from the glove box, along with her identification cards and various other cards. 


  • Mildred Adkins, of 423 Winterset Drive, Saturday at 7:42 p.m. stated when she arrived home she noticed someone had been in her room and had stolen a jug full of quarters. There were no signs of forced entry. The case was turned over to CPD Investigator L.C. Lockrell 


  • Delvin Robb, of 403 Westview Lane, Friday called authorities in reference to his green 1997 Toyota Camry being burglarized. Robb stated he dropped his car off at 2447 14th Ave. N. two days earlier to have his transmission worked on. Someone had busted out the rear passenger side window and taken two Pioneer Champion Series subwoofers in a box and a Nitro Brand 1000-watt amplifier, he said. 




    CPD Crime Tip of the Week:  


    n Etch a serial number or initial on valuables, and take pictures of valuables to enable identification in case of theft.
