A 19-year-old remains in the hospital this morning after being stabbed by his girlfriend Wednesday night.
Columbus Police Chief Selvain McQueen said Jawara Rashad Bush, 19, of 210 Deerfield Dr., was at the home of Chelsea Renae Brooks, 18, of 707 Waterworks Road, when the two got into an argument. After a verbal and physical confrontation inside the house, McQueen says Bush walked outside, where Brooks followed him and stabbed him in the left side.
Brooks was arrested and charged with domestic violence — aggravated assault with a weapon, and is currently in the custody of the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
Bush was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. His condition is unknown, but he had been placed in a room this morning.
